Press conference held at the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan (The right to see one's children!)

Three foreign fathers who have received counseling from APFS and its representative director, Kato, held a press conference at the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan.
More than 2.1 million foreigners live in Japan. Many foreigners marry Japanese people, but some end up getting divorced. After the divorce, the Japanese wife gets custody of the children, and even if the foreign husband wants to see them, the Japanese wife unilaterally refuses to let him see them. In addition, after the divorce, the residence status ends and the husband returns to his home country, and there is a possibility that he will never be able to see his children. With the Japanese government announcing its intention to join the Hague Convention, the issue of children in international divorces has become a major concern in Japanese society. At the press conference, three foreign fathers expressed doubts about Japan's divorce laws and spoke of the need for changes to the laws, sharing their specific experiences.
