Please support undocumented foreigners seeking special residence permission!
-- Send 1,000 postcards to the Ministry of Justice --

———————————————————————————————–
There are 62,009 undocumented foreign residents in Japan. There are a variety of people who have been in Japan for a long time, living with their Japanese spouses, and families with children, all living in the local community.

APFS has been supporting 34 irregular foreign families and individuals (17 families and 3 individuals) who have already been issued deportation orders since October 2012, so that they can be granted special permission to stay. We have been involved in various actions, such as a parade in Ginza and Yurakucho (November 2012), a "human chain" action in front of the Ministry of Justice (December 2012), and a one-week sit-in action in front of the Tokyo Immigration Bureau (May 2013). As we continue our actions, we feel that interest in irregular foreign residents is growing. However, as of August 2013, no one has been granted special permission to stay, except for one person who was granted special permission for medical treatment.

In order to get everyone's support so that the 34 people - 17 families and 3 individuals - can be granted special residence permission as soon as possible, APFS has taken action to deliver 1,000 postcards to the Ministry of Justice.
As of September 15, 2013, our office had distributed over 1,400 postcards to everyone.
I'm sure nearly 1,000 postcards were delivered to the Ministry of Justice.
Thank you all for your cooperation.

APFS will continue its activities to obtain special residence permission for 34 people, 17 families and 3 individuals.
We appreciate your support.
