On January 25, 2014 (Saturday), four Filipino volunteers in Japan, including members of APFS,
Around Ebina Station (Ebina City, Kanagawa Prefecture),
We held a fundraising campaign in November 2013 to raise funds for the victims of the typhoon that struck the Philippines.
Among the four is someone from Mindanao, an island that was directly affected by the typhoon.
I raised my voice and desperately appealed for donations.
Nearly three months had passed since the typhoon formed,
Many people stopped and contributed to the fundraising effort.
In just two hours, we were able to raise a total of 12,880 yen in donations.
Thank you to everyone who cooperated.
The donations we received will be used as follows:
In addition to the donations collected in Matsudo City (62,522 yen),
As of February 10, 2014, Philippine government agencies
Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO)I sent the money to [email address].
Donations will be collected through the "Overseas Filipino Committee".
Funds for fishermen to build fishing boats to resume fishing, and for rebuilding schools.
It will be used as follows.
(For project details,Here(Available in English only.)
Filipinos living in Japan have already established their lives in Japan.
I am unable to return to my home country frequently.
I don't think we could have raised that much money if only Japanese people had conducted the fundraising campaign.
Because Filipinos living in Japan acted for their homeland, they gained the support of the public.
I feel that a lot of money has been raised through donations.
We would like to express our gratitude to everyone who cooperated with us.

It is really a great feeling in deed to see how helpful Japanese friends like you and of course our kababayang Pinoy who are always ready to extend assistance the best way they can. I know they have their own concerns and problems and yet they manage to send this aid.
Thank you and please tell them all that CFO is very grateful and we will make sure this domination reaches the most deserving beneficiaries. We will update you of the developments on this end.
