On March 22, 2010, a Ghanaian man, ABUBAKAR AWUDU SURAJ (hereinafter referred to as Suraj), died during government-sponsored deportation. In order to determine the truth behind Suraj's death, we filed a lawsuit seeking state compensation on August 5, 2010, and on March 19, 2014, a landmark district court ruling was handed down that recognized that the immigration officials' restraining actions were "illegal" and that Suraj's death was due to their illegal actions. However, the government was not satisfied with this ruling and appealed, and in response, we, the plaintiffs, chose to appeal as well.
Following the plaintiff's argument last time, this time it is the defendant's argument. If there is nothing new in this argument, the trial may be over. The appeal trial is finally reaching its final stage. Your attendance will continue to put pressure on the government and appeal to the judge. We would appreciate your cooperation in attending the trial until the very end.
