[Participants Wanted] Listening to the Voices of Foreign Parents and Children - Parent and Child Dialogue

"Thinking about Japan in 5 years: Wishes of high school girls with foreign roots"

APFS will hold an event titled "Listening to the Voices of Foreign Parents and Children: Dialogue between Parents and Children" on Sunday, July 5th.

In order to convey the voices of foreign residents to a wide audience, APFS has held various events such as the "APFS Children's Conference" held by children of foreign nationality, a workshop to listen to the hopes of foreign residents, and "Thinking about Japan in Five Years: The Hopes of a High School Girl with Foreign Roots."

This time, we will invite three parent-child pairs (tentatively) of Iranian and Filipino nationality as speakers, and hear them speak from a new perspective on "dialogue between parents and children."

Among the three parent-child pairs, there is one who is currently facing the issue of "irregular residence." There is also a parent-child pair who faced the same issue in the past, but has now acquired a "resident status" and has stabilized their lives. What thoughts are each family going through right now as they go about their lives? Through parent-child dialogue, we will touch upon a variety of thoughts, including what they feel every day, and the thoughts parents have for their children and children for their parents.

This will be the first time in Japan that such a forum for listening to a dialogue between multiple foreign parents and children will be held. We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to participate.

We hope that this meeting will encourage us to think and act together so that our country, Japan, can become a tolerant society where everyone can live comfortably.
