Donations for the Philippines typhoon victims

Despite the bitter cold, we raised funds for typhoon victims.

On Saturday, January 25, 2014, four Filipino volunteers, including members of APFS,
Around Ebina Station (Ebina City, Kanagawa Prefecture),
We conducted a fundraising campaign to support the victims of the typhoon that hit the Philippines in November 2013.

Among the four are people from Mindanao, an island that was directly affected by the typhoon.
I raised my voice and appealed earnestly for donations.

It has already been almost three months since the typhoon occurred.
Many people stopped by and donated money.

In just two hours, we were able to raise a total of 12,880 yen.
Thank you to everyone who helped.

The donations we received are
Combined with the donations (62,522 yen) collected earlier in Matsudo City,
On February 10, 2014, the Philippine government agency
Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO)I sent the money to.

The donations will be made through the Committee on Overseas Filipinos.

Filipinos living in Japan have already established their lives in Japan,
It is not possible to return to my home country frequently.
Even if the fundraising campaign had been conducted by Japanese people alone, I don't think we would have been able to raise as much money as mentioned above.
Because Filipinos living in Japan worked for their country, they gained sympathy from the citizens.
I think we raised a lot of money.

We would like to thank everyone who helped us.

It is really a great feeling in deed to see how helpful Japanese friends like you and of course our kababayang Pinoy who are always ready to extend assistance the best way they can. I know they have their own concerns and problems and yet they manage to send this aid.

Thank you and please tell them all that CFO is very grateful and we will make sure this domination reaches the most deserving beneficiaries. We will update you of the developments on this end.
