Report on the project to build a mental health (self)care support system for counselors working in consultations with foreigners has been published

With funding from Pfizer Holdings Inc.'s "2011 Pfizer Program: Support for Citizen Activities and Research on Mental and Physical Healthcare," APFS is carrying out a project to establish a mental health (self-)care support system for counselors working in consultations with foreign residents.
In order to consider a mental health (self)care support system, we conducted a survey (questionnaire survey and interview survey) targeting consultation workers for foreign residents in Tokyo.

The questionnaire survey aimed to grasp the actual situation (basic information, problems in carrying out consultation activities, sense of burden) of counselors engaged in consultation for foreigners (including activities to help solve problems while providing support for Japanese language learning) in various parts of Tokyo. In addition, cross-tabulation was performed in the process of analyzing the questionnaire survey. The aim was to find correlations between items.
The interview survey aimed to gain a more specific understanding of the causes of stress experienced by consultation workers for foreign nationals and to share concrete efforts to reduce stress.

The survey report has now been completed and is available in PDF format.
