We have published a research report on the project to establish a mental health (self)care support system for counselors engaged in consultation with foreigners.

APFS is receiving funding from Pfizer Holdings Inc.'s "2011 Pfizer Program - Support for Citizen Activities and Research on Mental and Physical Healthcare" to implement the "Project to Establish a Mental Health (Self) Care Support System for Counselors Engaged in Consulting with Foreigners."
In order to consider the mental health (self) care support system, we conducted a survey (questionnaire survey and interview survey) targeting foreign counselors in Tokyo.

The aim of this survey was to understand the actual situation (basic information, problems in conducting consultation activities, and burdens) of counselors engaged in consultations with foreigners in various parts of Tokyo (including activities that involve providing support for Japanese language learning, counseling learners, and assisting them in resolving their problems). In addition, cross-tabulation and other methods were used in the process of analyzing the survey results. The aim was to find correlations between the items.
The aim of the interview survey was to gain a more concrete understanding of the causes of stress experienced by foreign workers providing support, and to share specific initiatives for stress reduction.

We are pleased to announce that the investigation report has been completed and is now available in PDF format.
Please take a look.
