[Request to attend the hearing] Suraju Incident National Compensation Lawsuit, High Court, 6th Hearing

We would appreciate your cooperation in observing the proceedings!

On March 22, 2010, Abubagar Awudu Suraj, a Ghanaian national (hereinafter referred to as Mr. Suraj), died while being deported at government expense. In order to uncover the truth about Mr. Suraj's death, a lawsuit seeking state compensation was filed on August 5, 2010, and on March 19, 2014, a landmark district court ruling was handed down acknowledging that the immigration officers' restraint was "illegal" and that Mr. Suraj died as a result of these illegal actions by the immigration officers.
However, the government appealed this ruling, and in response, we, the plaintiffs, also chose to appeal.
Following the questioning of Dr. Katsumata in Nagoya on September 14th, it is expected that the trial will conclude this time.
We are scheduled to hear a statement from Mr. Suraj's wife and the final appeal from the legal team. Your continued attendance will continue to put pressure on the government and appeal to the judges. We would appreciate your cooperation in attending the proceedings until the very end.
Please also extend this invitation to your family and friends!
