On March 22, 2010, a Ghanaian man named ABUBAKAR AWUDU SURAJ (hereinafter referred to as Suraj)
He died during government-sponsored deportation. In order to determine the truth behind Suraj's death, a lawsuit for state compensation was filed on August 5, 2010, and on March 19, 2014, a landmark district court ruling was handed down that recognized that the immigration officials' restraining action was "illegal" and that Suraj's death was due to their illegal actions.
However, the government appealed the ruling, and we, the plaintiffs, decided to appeal as well.
The appeal trial was concluded at the last hearing, and the next hearing will finally be the verdict. Some truths have come to light, such as how unreliable the written opinion of Dr. Katsumata was for the appeal trial. We hope for a just verdict that denies the inhumane treatment that Mr. Suraj received. Let's all listen to the ruling in our favor together. We would appreciate your cooperation in attending the hearing until the very end.
Please feel free to reach out to your family and friends!
