APFS will hold a number of events starting with the "Children's Conference" on Saturday, August 29, 2015.APFS: 100 Days of Action to Nurture Children's Dreams" We are working on ".
At the Children's Conference, ideas were put forward for ways to solve the problem of irregular immigration, such as "putting ourselves forward," "talking to someone in a higher position," and "legislators."
Therefore, as the second part of its "100 Days of Action," APFS is lobbying members of the Diet to call for improvements to the situation faced by undocumented children.
By Tuesday, September 8th, I had visited eight parliamentary offices from the Liberal Democratic Party, Komeito, Democratic Party, and Japan Innovation Party, and met with members of parliament and their secretaries.
There are still no public statistics available on how many children are in an irregular migrant situation.
I also explained that for children with irregular residency, poverty and an unstable residency situation mean they are unable to see a future. I also explained that there is currently a plan to grant residency status to children in exchange for the deportation of their parents.
Members of parliament also expressed opinions such as, "Children's future must be protected," and "Humanitarian considerations are needed."
The current Diet session is packed with bills, including the security bill, but we will continue to lobby Diet members with the goal of having them ask questions to the Ministry of Justice in the Judicial Affairs Committee and other committees during the next extraordinary Diet session.
APFS will continue to take action so that children can develop their dreams with peace of mind. We appreciate your support.
