APFS will hold a seven-session course to train counselors to support the safe and secure lives of foreign residents.
With the Tokyo Olympics approaching, visa procedures have been simplified, and technical intern trainees are coming to Japan in the construction and nursing care fields, so the foreign population is expected to increase further. Furthermore, the trend of foreign residents settling down is becoming more pronounced. Of the foreign population of 2.08 million (Immigration Bureau statistics as of the end of June 2014), 660,000 are "(general) permanent residents," accounting for about one-third.
As foreign residents reach higher stages in life, the problems they face are also changing and becoming more complicated. We felt that more people needed to get closer to foreign residents and provide support, so we decided to hold a counselor training course.
The seven-session course is designed to teach all the necessary knowledge for providing consultation to foreigners.
You can also join in the middle of the program just once.
In addition to counselors, we also welcome people who work as interpreters.
We welcome volunteers and members of the public who would like to become involved in providing consultation to foreigners.
Please come and participate.
