[Breaking News] The Road to Hope Project - simultaneous petitions to local assemblies have begun.

A press conference was held to mark the start of the project.

On Monday, August 18, 2014, we began a "simultaneous petition to local assemblies" as part of the Road to Hope Project.
The aims of the petition are: 1) to regularize undocumented foreign residents, and 2) to build a society in which everyone can have "hope."
They are calling for a letter of opinion to be submitted to the government requesting this.
We will submit petitions to a total of 35 local assemblies, including the 16 cities, wards, towns, and villages where undocumented foreign residents currently live, and the local assemblies of Tokyo's 23 wards.

The petition will be completed by early September, and the purpose of the petition will be explained by the general meeting at the end of October.
Our goal is to have at least one petition adopted and a statement of opinion submitted to the government.

To mark the start of the petition, a press conference was held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, the 18th.
NHK gave us extensive coverage, which helped many viewers become aware of the issue.

This project is participating in READY FOR? (crowdfunding).
