Crowdfunding through READY FOR? began on August 12th (Tuesday).
This is a project to petition local councils to create a society where everyone can have hope.

Crowdfunding is a method of raising funds for an individual or organization with a specific goal by collecting support from a large number of people via the internet.
In this project, we will simultaneously submit petitions to approximately 40 local assemblies, including those in Tokyo's 23 wards and the municipalities where undocumented foreign residents reside.

Irregular foreign residents are foreigners who do not yet possess a valid residence status. Various factors beyond the individual, such as the North-South divide and labor supply and demand, contribute to the existence of irregular foreign residents.
APFS has repeatedly submitted requests to the relevant government ministries (government agencies) on behalf of those affected. However, in recent years, these requests have been largely unsuccessful.
At times like these, I believe it's essential to build things up steadily from the bottom up. Among the undocumented foreign residents, there are some who help disabled people in their neighborhood with their shopping or continue to interact with the elderly.
If we can submit petitions to 40 local councils, we can first inform the local council members about the problems faced by undocumented foreign residents. It is likely that very few local council members are aware of this issue.
And if even one or two petitions are adopted by local assemblies, it will mean that the existence of undocumented foreign residents in those areas has been acknowledged. This will surely give undocumented foreign residents a boost.
And I am confident that this will lead us one step closer to a tolerant society where everyone can have hope.
