December 100-person marathon for foreigner consultations - 31-year-old representative runs! -
We will raise 200,000 yen through JustGiving Japan.
[Challenge Completion Status] (Updated December 27th)
We reached our goal of 100 consultations on Tuesday, December 24th. Thank you very much for your support.
As of December 27th, the total donations are 89,000 yen. Thank you very much to everyone who donated. However, we have not yet reached our goal of 200,000 yen.
We need funds to reach out to more foreigners. We are continuing to collect donations. Please support us!
For 26 years, APFS has been working to provide "solution-oriented consultations" by "accompanying" foreign residents to the scene to solve their problems. Currently, we are consulting with foreign residents from 26 countries. In 2013, our finances suddenly worsened, and we were in danger of not being able to continue our activities. In order to overcome this crisis and to connect with many people, the representative decided to challenge himself to obtain funds through JustGiving Japan (※).
[About this challenge]
We will receive 100 consultations in December. That means we will receive more than three consultations per day. In December, the 31-year-old representative will keep running. By setting a period and continuing to meet with as many foreign residents as possible, we will return to the origins that we have almost forgotten in our busy daily lives. We will structurally grasp what the issues surrounding foreign residents are and be able to think about our next steps.
What can be done with the target amount:
Kato will be able to head to the "site" where 100 foreign residents (assuming each person receives 2,000 yen) are facing problems.

[Profile of Challenger Jotaro Kato]
I'm a 31-year-old man who has just entered my 30s, but still feels uncomfortable in them. After working in a company and an educational and research institute, I left the corporate world in April 2010 and started a new path as the representative of APFS. I joined APFS in my fourth year of university, and before I knew it, a full 10 years have passed. I love APFS. I hope to continue to light the fire there and make foreign residents feel at ease, even if only a little.
*What is JustGiving Japan?
JustGiving, which was founded in the UK in 2001, is an internet fundraising tool. Individuals who want to change the world can choose an NPO they want to support and collect donations from friends and family. The service has been available in Japan since March 2010.
