Scenes from "Thinking about Japan in 5 years: The wishes of a high school girl with foreign roots"

APFS will be holding "Listening to the Voices of Foreign Parents and Children: Parent-Child Dialogue" on July 5th (Sunday).

APFS has previously held various events to widely share the voices of foreign residents with a large audience, including the "APFS Children's Conference" by children of foreign nationality, workshops to "listen to the wishes of foreign residents," and "Thinking about Japan in 5 years: The wishes of high school girls with foreign roots."

This event will feature three parent-child pairs (tentative) from Iran and the Philippines as speakers, and we will hear their stories from a new perspective: "Dialogue between Parents and Children."

Among the three families, some are currently facing the issue of "illegal residency." Others, who faced the same problem in the past, have now achieved stable lives by obtaining "residence status." What thoughts and feelings do these families have as they live their lives now? Through dialogues between parents and children, we will explore their daily experiences and the feelings they have for each other.

This event, featuring dialogues between multiple foreign national parents and children, is the first of its kind in Japan. We encourage you to take this opportunity to participate.

To make our country, Japan, a tolerant society where everyone can live comfortably, we hope this group will serve as a catalyst for thinking and acting together.
