On Wednesday, April 8th, the fourth hearing of the appeal trial in the national compensation claim lawsuit in the Suraj case was held at courtroom 825 of the Tokyo High Court, starting at 10:30 AM.
This time, the plaintiffs presented their counterarguments, with attorney Taniguchi representing the legal team. In a normal appeal trial, the trial would conclude at this point, but both the plaintiffs and defendants requested witness examinations. Of these, the examination of Dr. Katsumata, who submitted the government's opinion statement in the appeal trial, was approved.
Therefore, the next hearing will be held in Nagoya, where Dr. Katsumata resides, and is expected to be held behind closed doors. After that, one more hearing will be held to conclude the trial.
Details of the questioning and the date of the next court hearing will be announced on our website, blog, etc.
Last month marked five years since Suraj's death. It's a long struggle, but we would appreciate your continued support.
