On June 11, 2023, the Ordinary General Meeting was held at the APFS office.
Last year's business report was made, and first, an overview of the consultation business was reported. It was explained that among the new consultations last year, there were several from pregnant women and single-parent families, that the number of people seeking consultation is increasing not only from Asia but also from Central and South America and Africa, and that as the COVID-19 pandemic subsided, there were more consultations about "calling" wives and children from their home countries. It was also reported that eight people who were continuing to be supported were given Zaitoku during last year. However, all of these cases were before the deportation order was issued, and it was reported that there was not a single case last year in which a Zaitoku was given after a deportation order was issued and a petition for reconsideration was filed. Other activities discussed included the continuation of direct support such as food, and the operation of an online donation site. It was reported that this year's business plan will be to hold a course ("Development course for counselors for foreign residents") for the first time in a long time over a period of six sessions starting in June. This general meeting reaffirmed that APFS will continue to operate with the help of volunteers, directors, and regular members, even with a small staff.
