The fourth hearing of the appeal hearing for the Suraj case seeking state compensation was held on Wednesday, April 8th at 10:30 a.m. in Courtroom 825 of the Tokyo High Court.
This time, the plaintiffs' side rebutted, and Attorney Taniguchi, representing the legal team, made his argument. In a normal appeal trial, this would be the conclusion of the trial, but both the plaintiffs and the defendants requested witness examination, and this time, the witness examination of Dr. Katsumata, who submitted the government's written opinion in the appeal trial, was approved.
Therefore, the next hearing will be held in Nagoya, where Dr. Katsumata is located, and is expected to be held behind closed doors. After that, another hearing will be held and the trial will conclude.
The content of the interrogation and the next court date will be announced on our website, blog, etc.
Last month marked five years since Suraj's death. It will be a long fight, but we ask for your continued support.
