We sent a donation to the family of the late Mustafa, a former APFS executive committee member.

Mustafa before his death

APFS was established 26 years ago by Bangladeshi and Japanese people. Some of the members involved in the establishment stayed in Japan, while many others were forced to return to Japan.

In December 2013, we received news from Bangladesh that one of the members who had returned to Bangladesh, Mustafa (a former APFS executive committee member), was battling cancer.

The first Executive Director, Masud Karim, who is now in Bangladesh, has requested that we call for donations from Japan as well to cover the medical expenses and help Mustafa.

In order to save Mustafa's life, APFS started preparing a fundraising campaign. However, just as we were making the preparations, Mustafa passed away on December 21, 2013. Mustafa left behind his wife and young children. Since his death, their lives have become very difficult.

Therefore, to support Mustafa's family, APFS continued to collect donations at events such as "VICTORY DAY" (a gathering celebrating Bangladesh's Independence Day). On February 10, 2014, we transferred 60,000 yen, which we had collected from Bangladeshis living in Japan, to Mustafa's wife.

Below are the names of those who donated. We are extremely grateful for your help.
