On December 16, 2012, a party was held starting at 6:00 PM to commemorate the 25th anniversary of APFS's founding.
People from more than 10 countries gathered in the large conference room on the 4th floor of the Itabashi Ward Cultural Center in Tokyo to celebrate. The party, attended by over 150 people in total, included university professors and newspaper reporters who have supported APFS throughout its 25-year history, as well as many doctors and other professionals.
At the party, under the guidance of board members and members of foreign origin, greetings were given by the current representative director, Kato, and other prominent figures, followed by a slideshow reviewing the 25-year history of the organization's activities from its founding to the present.
After the greetings, a toast was made led by board member Baitariq (Hassan), and the atmosphere became lively with singing, dancing, and lively performances of folk music.
From those who have resolved their problems through APFS in the past and are now living wonderful lives in Japan, to those who are about to face their own problems, we were able to unite our thoughts and successfully conclude the party.
Regardless of nationality, position, age, or gender, I felt that the people gathered here shared one common wish: "To make Japan a country where foreigners can live more comfortably." Achieving this wish requires not only a change in people's attitudes, but also reforms across a wide range of areas, from systems to daily life, and the cooperation of many people.
With numerous issues such as visas, marriage, healthcare, law, daily life, family, and politics intertwined, Japan and the world are expected to enter a turbulent era. Now celebrating its 25th anniversary, APFS will continue to work together with all foreigners living in Japan, and with your support, we hope to achieve further development in the next 25 years and contribute to creating a Japan where as many foreigners as possible can live with a smile.
Thank you for the past 25 years. And I look forward to your continued support in the future.
