On Sunday, July 10th, 2011, from 2:10pm to 4:30pm, a total of 43 people, including 18 families and one individual, who are irregular foreign residents in Japan, conducted a simultaneous signature campaign in the area around JR Takadanobaba Station.
The 43 participants, consisting of 18 families and one individual, come from nine countries: the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Peru, Pakistan, Bangladesh, South Korea, Bolivia and Congo.
Both of them came to Japan in the late 1980s and 1990s.
Under the scorching heat of over 30 degrees, 43 people - 18 families and 1 individual - and their supporters - collected signatures.
Children from third grade of elementary school to first year of high school also participated.
The person in question actively called out to passersby and explained his situation.
In addition, some supporters took to the streets using microphones to make appeals of support for the parties involved.
Within two hours, they had collected 444 signatures.
Thank you to everyone who helped with the signatures.
APFS will continue to ask for your cooperation in signing the petition to show the Ministry of Justice that many people are continuing to support the 18 families and 1 individual, totaling 43 people.
We ask for your cooperation so that 43 people, consisting of 18 families and one individual, who have been living peacefully in Japan for many years, can continue to stay in Japan.
