At this in-house meeting, we have invited Colin PA Jones, a leading authority on custody systems, to give a keynote speech. In addition, Marie Wood from the International Rights of Children Society (IROCS) will be coming from Canada for this in-house meeting. IROCS has been working in Canada for over six years to provide relief for cases of international child abduction. Ms. Wood will provide her insights on the Hague Convention and joint custody from the field in Canada.
In addition, more than 40 "parents who cannot see their children" (Japanese and foreigners) are scheduled to attend this in-house meeting. We will tell you about the worries and problems they face after separating from their spouses or getting divorced because Japan has a system of sole custody and sole custody after divorce. We hope you will all come to this in-house meeting.
