We held the 2021 regular general meeting.

General meeting

On Sunday, June 20, 2021, the APFS office held its regular general meeting. Following last year's COVID-19 pandemic and the state of emergency, six regular members attended, with many submitting letters of attorney. The status of the consultation service was explained as a business report for last year. It was reported that there were many COVID-related consultations in the first half of last year, and that there has been an increase in consultations from refugee applicants recently. Of the members we support, three people obtained special residence permission last year, and all of them were children of irregularly staying families. In all cases, the children obtained special residence permission when their parents returned to their home countries, and it was said that we are now responding to consultations from these children about their daily lives and residence status. We plan to continue focusing on consultation services this year as well, and there was also an opinion that we would like to plan events while monitoring the COVID-19 infection situation.

The current financial situation was reported to be quite severe, and the need to apply for grants and gain new supporters was discussed.
Finally, the retirement of APFS founder Katsuo Yoshinari was announced, and it was discussed that everyone will continue to work together to promote APFS in the future.
