We conducted free health checkups for foreign residents.

The scene of the medical examination

On August 13, 2017, the annual free health checkup for foreign residents was held at Itabashi Ward Green Hall. As in previous years, it was co-sponsored by SHARE (Citizens' Association for International Health Cooperation). A total of 41 people were seen during the registration period from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM. Half of the patients were from Nepal, a country whose population has been increasing recently, with others from Myanmar, Bangladesh, India, the Philippines, and other countries. Foreign residents who usually find it difficult to go to the hospital due to the cost were able to ask doctors questions directly about various health concerns, especially during medical consultations, and some even spent a long time consulting with doctors. The event was scheduled to end at 4:30 PM, but it continued beyond that, and was extended by about an hour at a different location before concluding.

Some cases require long-term support, and these will be discussed further at the APFS office at a later date.
I've noticed a shift in the nationalities of our patients in recent years. I felt the need to explore the needs of Nepalese and Vietnamese clients, who are also increasing in number at APFS.
