The 8th Citizens' Consultation Meeting was held.

Scenes from the 8th Citizens' Meeting

On July 12, 2017, a "Citizens' Roundtable on Special Permission to Stay in Japan" was held at the Itabashi Ward Cultural Center. This was the 8th such meeting, and APFS's Yoshinari gave a report on his visit to the Philippines, while former teacher and APFS volunteer Fukumoto gave a report on the theme of "School Spaces and 'Family Stays' and 'Illegal Stays'." In addition, Dr. Yamamura of Minatomachi Clinic, who conducted a survey of the situation in Vietnam, a country that sends many technical trainees to Japan, from late May to early June, also reported on the results of his survey (with Dr. Yamamura's permission, this survey report will be sent to those who request it. If you are interested, please contact APFS).

Finally, discussions were held regarding detailed considerations for future publications and recommendations for the 7th Immigration Control Policy Roundtable, and the council's policies were reaffirmed.
