APFS is working on a project called "Comprehensive support for the independence of foreign residents" with funding from the Welfare and Medical Services Agency. We are conducting various projects such as training caregivers and holding courses to help foreign residents become independent. As part of this project, we are opening the following two courses for foreign residents from Sunday, November 15th.
By having foreign residents take two courses, employment support and personal computers, we aim to help them find new employment or change jobs to ones with better conditions, thereby nurturing the skills they need to survive on their own.
You are also welcome to join us midway through the event. Please come along and participate.
[Employment support course]
Lecturer: Kumiko Ara (Social Insurance and Labor Consultant, Hibiya Station Social Insurance and Labor Consultant Office)
When foreigners start working in Japan, the most confusing thing is Japan's unique employment system. It is important to understand the differences between Japan and other countries, such as lifetime employment and job rotation. Also, knowing the Labor Standards Act will help you protect yourself. In addition, we also provide employment support and aim to expand employment opportunities for foreign residents, so that they can become independent as members of society.
[Computer Course]
Lecturer: Kohei Ishii (IT Specialist, IBM Japan)
The purpose of this program is to allow foreign residents who are unable to access appropriate information due to their inability to operate a computer to experience using a computer and overcome their fear of using a computer. The goal is to enable them to write documents in Microsoft Word, create simple tables in Excel, and access the information they need, such as job listings, on the Internet.
