Rikkyo University Global Urban Research Institute Public Lecture: "Human Migration Between Bangladesh and Japan - The Lives of Returned Bangladeshis (tentative title)"

Scenes from a press conference in Bangladesh

APFS is collaborating with the Faculty of Sociology at Rikkyo University on a three-year project-based course titled "International Human Migration and Exchange: A Case Study Between Japan and Bangladesh."
A public lecture related to this project will be held at Rikkyo University.

In the late 1980s, there was a sharp increase in the number of people from Bangladesh visiting Japan for work. Subsequently, the Japanese immigration authorities changed their policies, and many of them ended up returning to their home countries. This report, based on data from interviews conducted in Bangladeshi villages, describes the lives of those who spent a certain period in Japan and were forced to return home due to deportation or other reasons.
