APFS has been working on the "APFS 100-Day Action to Nurture Children's Dreams" since the "Children's Conference" held on Saturday, August 29, 2015.
On Sunday, October 4th, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM, in Tokyo...
In order to support an Iranian high school freshman and his mother who are in an undocumented state of residence,
We conducted a signature campaign to request special permission for Iranian mothers and children who are illegally residing in Japan to stay in the country.
The Iranian mother and child are surrounded by supporters in their local community, including the mothers of their classmates and residents living nearby. On the day of the petition drive, two of their high school classmates also participated.
Although it was only a short time, we were able to collect signatures from over 100 people. Some people seemed confused by the unfamiliar term "illegal immigrant," but others came back specifically to sign after reading the flyer. One high school student who participated in the signature campaign said that they "felt a sense of accomplishment."
The total number of signatures is already approaching 1,500. APFS will continue to support the signature campaign and will convey to the Ministry of Justice and the Immigration Bureau that many people are supporting this initiative.
Following children's conferences, lobbying, and signature campaigns, we plan to continue various activities, including making requests to immigration authorities, holding press conferences, and organizing parades.
We would greatly appreciate your support.
