Free health check-up for foreign residents

74 patients were examined.

On Sunday, September 15, 2013, a free health checkup for foreign residents in Japan was held by SHARE (Citizens' Association for International Health Cooperation) in collaboration with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. 74 people took the checkup (24 more than last year). The number of people from Nepal increased sharply (26 people).
The patients underwent chest X-rays, blood pressure measurements, urine tests, physical examinations, medical consultations, dental consultations, and nutritional consultations. APFS volunteers acted as interpreters on the day, providing support in English, Chinese, Bengali, Burmese, Tagalog, and other languages.
Many of the participants were seeking special permission to stay in Japan and were in the process of applying for refugee status, and many had been forced to discontinue treatment due to financial reasons. Many referral letters were issued, and participants were able to connect with medical institutions.
