8th date of state compensation lawsuit in Suraj case

On March 22, 2010, Abubagar Awudu Suraj, a Ghanaian national (hereinafter referred to as Mr. Suraj), died while being deported at government expense. The death occurred when immigration officials accompanying him forcibly restrained him using handcuffs, towels, and personal zip ties, which are not permitted by regulations.
To uncover the truth behind Suraj's death, we filed a lawsuit on August 5, 2010, seeking damages from the government and immigration officials. Suraj regretted overstaying his visa and only wished to live in Japan with his wife. Through this lawsuit, we will uncover why Suraj had to die.
At the next hearing, the government is expected to present its formal arguments following the decision not to prosecute in July. One year and four months after the lawsuit was filed, the case will finally begin to move forward.
The more people who attend the hearing, the greater the power it will be to uncover the truth of this case.
