A party was held on December 16th, 2012, starting at 6pm to celebrate the 25th anniversary of APFS' founding.
People from over 10 countries gathered to celebrate in the fourth floor conference room of the Itabashi Cultural Center in Tokyo. A total of over 150 people attended the party, including many doctors and other professors who have supported APFS over its 25-year history, as well as university professors and journalists.
The party was hosted by foreign directors and members, and included greetings from current representative director Kato and prominent professors, followed by a slide show looking back on the 25-year history of the organization's activities since its founding.
After the greetings, a toast was led by board member Baitalik (Hassan), and the attendees enjoyed singing and dancing to live folk music.
From people who have solved their problems through APFS in the past and are now living wonderful lives in Japan, to those who are just about to face their own problems, we were all able to come together and finish the party safely.
Regardless of nationality, position, age, or gender, the people gathered here all shared a single wish: to make Japan a more comfortable place for foreigners to live. To make this wish a reality, we need not only a change in people's awareness, but also a wide range of reforms in areas such as systems and lifestyles, and we need the cooperation of many people.
With many issues intertwined, including visas, marriage, medical care, law, lifestyle, family, and politics, Japan and the world are entering a turbulent era. APFS, which just celebrated its 25th anniversary, would like to continue to grow further in the next 25 years together with all foreigners living in Japan, with your help, and contribute to creating a Japan where as many foreigners as possible can live with a smile.
Thank you for the past 25 years. And I look forward to your continued support.
