We held a joint demonstration with the Ghana Association, a group of volunteer Ghanaians, in memory of the wife of ABUBAKAR AWADU SURAJ, who died during deportation on March 22, 2010 (National Holiday). About 50 people gathered, including people from Ghana and other African countries, like SURAJ, as well as APFS staff and volunteers, regardless of nationality or skin color, including Japanese people and people with various connections to other countries.
I walked in the rain from Mikawadai Park in Roppongi through Kasumigaseki to Hibiya Park. During the roughly hour-long demonstration, led by my wife and close friends from SURAJ,WE WANT JUSTICE!!! – WE WANT JUSTICE!!!" They called for an apology and explanation from the Ministry of Justice, and particularly the Immigration Bureau, as well as an appropriate investigation by the Chiba Prefectural Police and the disclosure of related information.
