On Sunday, August 30, 2009, the annual "Free Health Check-up for Foreign Residents" was held at "High Life Plaza Itabashi".SHARE = Citizens' Association for Global Health Cooperation" It was unfortunately raining on the day, so the number of patients in the morning was low, but it gradually increased in the afternoon, and in the end about 50 foreign residents in Japan came to see us. As it was the middle of Ramadan, many Muslims refrained from going out, and the majority of patients this time were from Myanmar.
In addition to urine tests, X-rays, and dental examinations, a medical interview was also conducted, and varicose veins were discovered in one patient from the Philippines who required immediate surgery.
There are many foreign residents who find it difficult to go to the hospital due to language barriers and expensive medical fees. We hope to continue providing opportunities like this free medical checkup in the future.
