On Sunday, August 30, 2009, the annual "Free Health Checkup for Foreign Residents" was held at "High Life Plaza Itabashi".SHARE = Citizens' Association for International Health CooperationThis event was co-hosted with [organization name]. Unfortunately, it rained on the day, so the number of patients in the morning was low, but it gradually increased in the afternoon, and in the end, about 50 foreign residents came for consultations. Many Muslims refrained from going out because it was Ramadan, and as a result, the largest number of patients this time were from Myanmar.
In addition to urine tests, X-rays, and dental checkups, a medical interview was also conducted. Varicose veins were discovered in one of the patients, who was from the Philippines, and it was determined that surgery was urgently needed.
Due to language barriers and high medical fees, many foreign residents find it difficult to access medical care. We hope to continue providing opportunities like this free health checkup in the future.
