Thank you so much for your prompt donation to our donation project, "Overcoming the Barriers of Residence Status and Supporting the Dreams of Young People."
On January 21, 2022, we delivered cash donations to a single-parent family of Filipino nationality (including two children, one in high school and one in middle school) who are in dire need of help because they are unable to work due to being on provisional release. They said they would use the money to buy food and daily necessities (such as detergent and shampoo). The high school senior in the family hopes to enroll in a vocational school this spring, but they are facing numerous worries, including their current unstable residency status, uncertainty about whether they can attend school, and financial hardship, which are causing them considerable emotional distress. APFS is of course supporting them with immigration procedures and other matters in order to obtain special permission to stay in the country, but we believe that if we can also send them this kind of support, they will feel that there are many people supporting them and be able to work positively towards their dreams.
Through this donation project, we aim to support young people who are undocumented immigrants and who are struggling to make ends meet or pursue higher education. Your cooperation would be greatly appreciated.
