The first mental health consultation cafe has ended.

Today, September 14th, we held the first "Mental Health Counseling Cafe" for foreigners living in Japan.

This time, two Bangladeshi nationals visited our office and had in-depth discussions with a psychiatrist and a clinical psychologist for an hour each.

One of the men had already been seeing a psychiatrist, but expressed his impatience to get better and get back to work as soon as possible, as he wanted to bring his wife over from his home country to live with him in Japan.

The other person is currently applying for refugee status and does not have a work permit, so he is unable to work and cannot return to his home country, while his child is growing up in Japan.

I told him that as a parent, it's hard not being able to do anything every day.

At APFS, we aim to work together to resolve a variety of issues, but in most cases, they cannot be resolved overnight. We started this project to help those affected by these issues from breaking down emotionally during times like these. We believe that simply having a specialist listen to you can help alleviate some of the stress. The next session is on October 5th. Any concerns are welcome. If you are living in Japan and are experiencing difficulties, please come and talk to us. We look forward to hearing from you to make a reservation.
