"Joint statement by researchers calling for the suspension of appeal against state compensation lawsuit over death of Ghanaian national repatriated to Japan" has been issued.

Following the Tokyo District Court's ruling on the "Suraj Case Lawsuit for State Compensation" on Wednesday, March 19, 75 researchers involved in research on issues and policies regarding foreigners and immigrants issued a "Joint Statement by Researchers Calling for No Appeal in the Lawsuit for State Compensation in the Case of the Death of a Ghanaian National Repatriated at State Expenses."

The joint statement was delivered to the Minister of Justice. Ms. Yuki Kawai, Deputy Director-General of the Immigration Bureau of the Ministry of Justice, received the statement.
