
Foreign residents receiving dental checkups
On August 1, the ASIAN PEOPLE'S FRIENDSHIP SOCIETY (APFS) launched a social networking website for foreign residents of Japan.Free health checkA total of 68 people were examined. Many of them were seeking special permission to stay in Japan and were in the process of applying for refugee status, and many had been forced to discontinue treatment due to financial reasons. A total of 21 referral letters were issued, and many people were able to connect with medical institutions.
The participants received a physical examination, chest X-ray, blood pressure measurement, urine test, physical examination, medical consultation, dental consultation, and nutrition consultation. On the day, APFS volunteers acted as interpreters and supported the participants in English, Bengali, Burmese, Tagalog, etc.
This event was co-hosted by APFS and the nonprofit organization SHARE (Citizens' Association for Global Health Cooperation).
