The 4th installment of the lecture series was held.

On January 26th, we held the fourth session of our lecture series, "Interacting with Migrant Workers Living in Japan." This time, Zahid and Salm from Bangladesh were our guest speakers. They talked about their reasons for coming to Japan and their work experiences. They said that it was extremely difficult to find an apartment when they first came to Japan in the early 1990s. This was a story that the guest from Myanmar in the previous session also shared. The reason they were refused apartments was because they were from Bangladesh, and they were told that the smell of their cooking, such as curry, would be a nuisance to the neighbors.

Participants asked a variety of questions, including about work environments and religion, and the two hours flew by. The guest brought biryani, a type of pilaf, which everyone enjoyed.
