On Sunday, September 22nd, the first "Interaction with Migrant Workers Living in Japan" event was held at the APFS office.
For the first episode, we welcomed Jerry from Ghana as our guest, and he shared with us various stories about his life in Japan since he arrived.
Before coming to Japan, he was a soccer player in Ghana, but after meeting a Japanese person there and learning about Japan at school, he became interested in Japan, and so he came to Japan more than 20 years ago.
He talked about how after coming to Japan he had been working in a factory, which was quite physically demanding, and about an injury he had sustained while at work.
He now works in waste recycling and talked to us about the problems he faces at work.
However, Jerry is a very earnest person and does not like to change jobs easily. He continues to work hard to gain the trust of those around him by working hard.
In addition, Jerry served up some homemade Ghanaian food, and all the participants seemed to be able to enjoy both the stories and the flavors of Ghana.
Our next guest will be Mika Hattori from the Philippines.
Enjoy a relaxed atmosphere and chat with foreigners you might not normally have a chance to talk to, while enjoying some local home cooking!
