I came to Japan 20 years ago without knowing any Japanese, so it was difficult at first. I met my husband in 1993, and we have a 13-year-old son who is currently enrolled in a public junior high school. The cost of living in Japan is high, so it is difficult to raise a child. As a parent, I will work hard to ensure that my son has a bright future.
I am involved in bilingual education for bi-cultural children as a volunteer at a local church. It is important to teach the children the positive values of the Philippines, including Christianity, as well as Japanese values. At the same time, I also want to learn Japanese and love Japan, my second home country.
I am grateful to APFS for supporting the foreign community, and I hope the Japanese government will also implement more policies for foreigners living in Japan.APFS is my family, and I believe that family is the foundation of society.
