International symposium Challenge for letting off care worker and supporting foreign residents ―Learning experiences from Philippines and Indonesia―

介護職員初任者研修の様子

Japan is facing drastic aging society and shortage of nursing care professionals is critical issue. APFS has been conducting “Comprehensive Support Project for the Independence of Foreign Residents”, that includes basic nursing care workers training program.

In the international symposium, we will report our program accomplishment and implication regarding this issue. And, we will discuss the current circumstances and share experiences with officials from Philippine government-based organization and Indonesian researcher who studies migrant women issues. In the discussion, we learn about what we need to do to develop system and environment for foreign residents to work as care workers.

This opportunity will provide us to think about foreign residents who involved with our project can play roles among prospective foreign care workers and Japanese care work professionals and care workers.
